Strong bodies.
Strong hearts.
Strong minds.
Al-Khair Islamic School serves Kindergarten through 10th grade with a full-time program that brings together serious academics, Qur’an, Islamic Studies, Hifdh, Arabic, character, and whole-child development.
You should not have to choose between strong deen and strong academics.
Al-Khair was built around the Muslim student. Qur’an and Islamic Studies are not after-school extras, and academics are not treated as secondary. Students grow in both throughout the school day.
Our goal is to develop students who know their deen, think clearly, communicate well, take responsibility, care for their bodies, and continue advancing academically.

Students begin at their current level and move toward memorization.
Students can move ahead when they are ready.
Akhlaaq, responsibility, worship, and manners are part of school life.
Leadership, physical development, communication, and practical skills matter too.

We look for measurable progress in academics, Qur’an, Islamic knowledge, character, and student responsibility.
Approximately 75% of students are at least one grade level ahead in mathematics.
Students have skipped a grade because individualized learning allowed them to advance when ready.
Al-Khair students have reached final rounds at the North American Imam Shatibi Qur’an Competition—a competition whose organizers describe it as North America’s premier platform for Qur’anic excellence.
One student earned second place in the first year of the Islamic Studies competition section.
Our students are prepared to stand on a bigger stage.
Al-Khair is the only school in Rochester that sends students to the North American Imam Shatibi Qur’an Competition. Its organizers describe it as North America’s premier platform for Qur’anic excellence, bringing together competitors from across the continent.
Our students have reached final rounds in both Qur’an and Islamic Studies, including a second-place Islamic Studies finish in the first year that division was offered.
See Our Qur’an & Islamic Studies Program →High expectations create meaningful goals.
Competition gives students a reason to refine memorization, tajwīd, Islamic knowledge, confidence, and presentation under rigorous evaluation.
