Al-Khair offers a comprehensive Islamic Studies program covering Aqeedah, Fiqh, Tafseer, Hadith, Akhlaaq, and Seerah, alongside daily Qur’an instruction and a structured Hifdh pathway. Our curriculum combines authentic classical Islamic texts with real-life applications so students understand both what Islam teaches and how to practice it.
Islamic Studies Curriculum
A comprehensive program in the core Islamic sciences.

Our curriculum uses a combination of authentic classical Islamic texts and age-appropriate teaching methods. Students learn the words and ideas of reliable scholarship while teachers continually connect those lessons to the situations children actually face at home, at school, with friends, and in the wider society.
The goal is not simply to finish a book. The goal is for students to understand the lesson, remember it, explain it, and recognize where it belongs in their own lives.

Qur’an & Hifdh Program
A separate, structured pathway from Qāʿidah to complete memorization.
Students may enter Al-Khair at any Qur’an level. Once students complete the Qāʿidah and are ready for memorization, they are automatically enrolled in our Hifdh program with no additional Hifdh fee.

Al-Khair is the only school in Rochester that sends students to this competition. Our Islamic Studies curriculum has repeatedly prepared students to reach the final round of the Islamic Studies section of the North American Imam Shatibi Qur’an Competition, which organizers describe as North America’s premier platform for Qur’anic excellence. In the first year the Islamic Studies competition was introduced, an Al-Khair student earned 2nd place.

Deen and academics reinforce each other.
Students do not switch between an “Islamic side” of school and an “academic side.” Tafseer supports writing and vocabulary, Islamic Studies strengthens literacy, science is discussed within an Islamic worldview, and Arabic is practiced alongside English. This is part of what makes Al-Khair Rochester, Minnesota’s only full-time Islamic school combining academic and Islamic education.
