What tuition includes

Hifdh is included as part of the Al-Khair program.

As Rochester's only full-time Islamic school offering both academic and Islamic education, we want parents to know exactly what they are paying for and the value included in tuition.

Hifdh Included

After completing the Qāʿidah, students are automatically enrolled into Hifdh at no additional cost. See our Qur’an pathway →

No Hidden Fees

There are no hidden monthly program fees added to tuition. Qur'an, Islamic Studies, academics, personal development, and the Hifdh pathway are included as part of the school program.

Tuition During the Academic Year

Tuition is paid during the academic year. Parents do not make additional school tuition payments outside the academic year.

Sibling Discounts

$500/month for one student. Two siblings receive a 10% family discount ($900/month total). Three or more siblings receive a 20% family discount; three students, for example, are $1,200/month total.

Minnesota tax benefit

Your tuition may help at tax time.

Minnesota allows private-school tuition as a qualifying expense for the state's K–12 Education Subtraction, subject to state eligibility rules and annual limits.

For current Minnesota limits, families may subtract qualifying expenses up to the state maximum for each qualifying child. A subtraction reduces Minnesota taxable income, which may reduce the amount of Minnesota income tax owed or increase a refund. Families should keep tuition receipts or statements and follow Minnesota Department of Revenue guidance when filing.

Transportation support

Your public school district may help with transportation.

Minnesota's nonpublic-school transportation laws require resident school districts to provide eligible nonpublic-school students with transportation access comparable to public-school students.

Depending on the district's transportation arrangement, families may receive district transportation service or reimbursement when parents transport their children to and from school. Families should complete the transportation forms required by their resident district; Al-Khair can help families understand what information is needed.

Frequently asked questions

Common admissions questions

What grades does Al-Khair serve?

Al-Khair Islamic School serves students from Kindergarten through 10th grade. Enrollment availability may vary by grade.

Does my child need to be at a certain Qur'an level?

No. We work with students at every Qur'an level, from children still developing reading fluency to students already engaged in advanced memorization and Hifdh.

Does Al-Khair have a Hifdh program?

Yes. Hifdh is included at no additional cost after a student completes the Qāʿidah. See the full Qur’an and Hifdh pathway →

How is academic placement determined?

We consider prior school information, parent input, and the student's current skill level. When useful, we may use a placement assessment to determine where the student will learn best.

Can students work above their traditional grade level?

Yes. One of Al-Khair's priorities is allowing students to advance when they demonstrate readiness rather than limiting progress solely because of age or grade label.

How do I get the current tuition amount?

Submit the short inquiry below and we will share current tuition, availability, and next steps for your child's grade.
